JAWLINE SHAPING

Jawline shaping, also known as facial slimming or contouring, using Botox is a non-surgical cosmetic procedure that can help reduce the size of the masseter muscle, which can result in a more defined and slimmer jawline.

The masseter muscle is located in the lower jaw and it is responsible for chewing and clenching the jaw. If the muscle is overdeveloped, it can result in a more square-shaped jawline, which some people may find undesirable. Using Botox for jawline shaping involves injecting small amounts of the product into the masseter muscle to weaken and relax the muscle, which results in a slimmer jawline.

The procedure is typically done in the doctor's office and takes around 15-20 minutes to complete. The results typically last for approximately 3-6 months, after which follow-up treatments may be necessary to maintain the desired results.

Botox injections for jawline shaping are generally safe and effective when administered by a qualified medical professional. However, there may be potential side effects, such as injections site bruising, swelling, or pain. It is important to follow your medical professional's aftercare instructions to minimize the risk of any potential side effects.

AFTER CARE

After getting a jawline shaping treatment with Botox injections, it is important to follow your provider's instructions for aftercare to ensure optimal results and minimize any potential side effects. Here are some general aftercare guidelines:

  • AvoId touching or rubbing the treated area for at least 24 hours.

  • Avoid any vigorous activity or exercise that may increase blood flow to the area for at least 24 hours.

  • Avoid hot liquids and foods, spicy foods, and alcohol for the first 24 hours.

  • Apply ice or a cold compress to the treated area to help reduce swelling and discomfort. You can do this for 10 to 15 minutes at a time, several times a day for the first 48 hours.

  • Follow up with your provider if you experience any unusual symptoms or side effects, such as excessive swelling, pain, or fever.

  • It is also recommended to avoid massaging or manipulating the jawline for two weeks after the treatment. This includes avoiding chewing gum or other chewy foods that may engage the masseter muscles.

Remember that each person may have different aftercare instructions based on their individual needs and the type of treatment they received. It is important to follow your provider's specific aftercare instructions for the best results.
